      Instructions : You are a young business reporter creating a short documentary for a youth business channel. Your task is to interview a local business and report on how they are contributing to solving socio-economic issues in your community.

      Work individually or in pairs, and complete the following:

      PART 1 : Video Structure and content

      Introduction ( 5 Marks)

      • Define “social responsibility” in your own words.
      • Briefly explain why social responsibility is important for businesses in South Africa.
      • Give two practical examples of socially responsible actions businesses can take.

       

      PART 2 : Interview with a local business ( 15 Marks)

      Interview the owner or manager of a local business (can be a family business, shop, or any organisation).

      Ask them the following:

      • What socio-economic issue(s) are most relevant in your area?
      • What initiatives has the business taken to address these issues?
      • Why did they choose to be involved in that cause?
      • What benefits or challenges have they experienced from their involvement.

      NOTE: Show some footage of the business, their project (if visible), or include pictures in your video.

       

      PART 3: Evaluation and Reflection ( 15 Marks)

      • Evaluate how effective the initiative is in helping the community.
        Is it solving the problem or just helping a little?
        What are the visible results (if any)?
      • Suggest two ways the business could improve or expand their efforts.

      • Reflect on what you learned about social responsibility and its impact

      Part 4: Presentation Style (5 marks)

      Clear audio and visuals, Confidence, creativity, and good structure is essential.
